I’m a senior at Carlson majoring in Accounting. I joined NRVTAP as a junior, and volunteering has been a great opportunity to learn while giving back to the community. This year, I’m looking forward to helping new volunteers as V.P. of Training. When I’m not doing taxes, I like playing video games, watching anime, and staying active.

I am a graduate student in the Chemical Physics program at the College of Science and Engineering. I am an international student from China. NRVTAP helped me file my tax return during my first year in Minnesota. I love the idea of providing free tax assistance to people from all over the world, so I started volunteering with NRVTAP in 2020. I look forward to helping train any current or new volunteers. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, backpacking, and exploring the outdoors of Minnesota.

Advisory Board

  • Marea Clarke

    Chair

    She/her/hers

I received my M.B.A. from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in 2008. One of my classes in that program was an international tax class that included volunteering at an IRS VITA clinic for nonresident aliens, and I've been a part of a nonresident VITA clinic for the University of Minnesota international students ever since! In 2019 I helped then-current students form NRVTAP as a student organization focused on providing tax services to support the UofM's international community. We have grown tremendously during the past few years, and I am excited to help the leadership team continue to expand the organization and services. Outside of the tax program, I enjoy gardening, beekeeping, and outdoor sports (especially the winter ones!).

In addition to serving as an advisor to NRVTAP, I work as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the Sensor industry. Outside of work and continued studies, I enjoy backpacking, reading, socializing with friends, and exercising.
